UKIIC and the APPG Metaverse & Web 3.0 held meeting on ‘Creating Value in Future Digital Economy’ at the Parliament

On 8th December, UKIIC Accelerator, together with the APPG Metaverse and web 3.0 (All-Party Parliamentary Group on Metaverse and Web 3.0) of the UK Parliament, held the meeting and dinner on "Creating Value in The Future Digital Economy” at the British Parliament Building.





Baroness Uddin attended and hosted the meeting.She warmly welcomed all the guests present and expressed her enthusiasm in supporting the Metaverse and Web 3.0. The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Metaverse and Web 3.0 brings together political parliamentarians, industry enterprises and elites in this society. The UKIIC Accelerator serves as the secretariat, aiming to integrate relevant high-quality resources, seek solutions, and promote social awareness of Metaverse and Web 3.0 as well as social understanding of the challenges and opportunities in this area.





Alexander P. Lee, founder and CEO of SOLARR, delivered a speech in the meeting. Alexander said that SOLARR is honoured to represent the voice of Web 3.0 practitioners and industry leaders in Hong Kong, and is happy to share the latest Web 3.0 user cases in different industries. SOLARR is building an integrated portal to the Metaverse virtual economy for consumers, creators, and businesses. Bridging the combined power of decentralisation and Web 3.0 technologies through commerce, finance and the metaverse virtual economy. He said that he is very much looking forward to exploring more opportunities for Hong Kong-UK cross-border cooperation to support the development of Web 3.0 and the virtual economy.




During the dinner, all the guests shared their backgrounds, stories and experiences, as well as their insights and outlook on the Metaverse and Web 3.0. Dr. Peter Zhang and Professor Xiong Yu shared the story of their cooperation in blockchain and their research progress on Web 3.0. Industry leader Mr. George Ning shared his insights in supporting digital bank certificates and other aspects of the Web 3.0 space. Ms Giulia Battaglia, Ms Ciara Dolby and Ms Afagh Mulazadeh expressed their strong enthusiasm for the new era of Web 3.0.

Finally, Baroness Uddin encouraged everyone to explore opportunities and cooperation to support the future development of the technological society.
