A delegation from Fuyang District, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, visited the UK International Innovation Centre in London on April 26th, 2023, to explore cooperation in technology innovation between China and the UK and to strengthen exchanges and learning. The delegation included representatives from Fuyang District, including He Xianzhong, a member of the Standing Committee of the Fuyang District Committee of the CPC and Deputy District Chief, Zhang Hong, Secretary of the Fuyang District Investment Promotion Center of the Fuyang District Bureau of Commerce in Hangzhou, and other town mayors and party secretaries from Longmen Ancient Town, Luzhu Town, and Xukou Town, as well as local entrepreneurs. The British reception team included Chen Yuanfeng, CEO of the UK International Innovation Center, Executive Vice Chairman of the UK Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Zhang Qing, Director and COO of the UK International Innovation Center, Zhang Jinlong, Chairman of the UK Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, He Xiaobo, Vice Chairman of the UK Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, and CEO of the Shangyu Consulting Group, among other British business elites.

Under the guidance of Mr. Chen, the Fuyang delegation visited the innovation incubation building of the UK International Innovation Centre located in the center of London and then held a meeting with the British team. He, the Deputy District Chief, first gave a detailed introduction to the superior geographical location, long history, and cultural environment of Fuyang. Fuyang is a new space in the Hangzhou City West Science and Technology Innovation Corridor, one of the first batch of 28 pilot areas for high-quality development and common prosperity demonstration areas in Zhejiang Province, with strong comprehensive strength and profound cultural heritage, convenient transportation network, and sound supporting services and financial environment, especially the one-stop administrative approval services provided by the government for investors. The Fuyang team emphasized the trillion-level internet of things industry ecosystem and the hundred million-level biomedical industry currently being built in Fuyang, and He, the Deputy District Chief, stated that Fuyang is currently at a critical turning point in its transformation. The local government's top leader led the team to visit the UK and hopes to establish a deep and diverse cooperation with the UK International Innovation Centre and the British business community. He promised that the local government will introduce high-level talents and key projects with diverse policies, especially the "no ceiling" policy on "one matter, one negotiation."

Both sides had a lively discussion, and the British team introduced British companies, technology financial environment, and market opportunities. He Xianzhong, Deputy District Chief of Fuyang District, and Zhang Qing, Director and COO of the UK International Innovation Center, signed and exchanged a framework agreement to establish a strategic cooperation relationship and agreed on a follow-up plan for in-depth cooperation.

After the meeting, the British delegation accompanied the Fuyang delegation to visit the Great Charter Island and the Great Charter Island International Innovation Center on the Thames River, where the two sides had a heated discussion on the birthplace of the Magna Carta, which marked the official opening of British constitutional history, and introduced the technology, financial environment, and market opportunities under their respective geographical advantages. The success of this visit will further promote innovation cooperation between China and the UK, deepen the relationship between Fuyang District and the UK International Innovation Centre, and provide more cooperation opportunities and development platforms for innovative entrepreneurs and businessmen in both China and the UK
